Why read it?

1 author picked A World of Flower Fairies as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

Cicely Mary Barker may not be a familiar name, but you’ve probably seen her artwork.

The British artist’s beautiful watercolor portrayals of fairies representing hundreds of different trees and flowers (with a poem to go with each) inspired me as a young artist. Each fairy was created using real-life models from Barker’s sister’s kindergarten.

These fairies jump off the page with sweet expressions, rosy cheeks, and detailed and imaginative clothing based on each fairy’s representative plant. It’s enough to make anyone want to plant their own fairy garden.

From Talitha's list on inspiring childlike wonder for all ages.
