Will I love A Knight in Shining Armor?

Unlike most 'time travel romances', this one seemed more authentic than others. While it's part of a family series, I read it as a standalone years ago and recently re-read it. I still like it!

Yes, it’s time travel romance!

Our heroine, Dougless Montgomery, literally wishes for a knight in shining armour (something many of us have done hundreds of time), and he appears. Not just any knight, but Nicholas Stafford, Earl of Thornwyck. Her no-account boyfriend has just stormed off and left her alone in a foreign country without her passport or money, so if anyone was entitled to a knight it was her! Coming off a low base, it was wonderful (and amusing) to see her grow and develop as a person.

A Knight in Shining Armor was the first time travel I ever read.

I immediately fell in love with the genre and the story. It is a story with a conflict that appears to be impossible to overcome: two people perfect for each other but without a chance at a future together. Dougless travels back to Nicholas' time, centuries in the past.

To her, he's a miracle, a man who accepts her as she is. The adventures they go through only strengthen their love for each other. Yet there's always the conflict of her returning and leaving him behind.

A time-travel romance featuring a present-day heroine and a dashing hero from the sixteenth century! This is one of the most romantic novels I’ve ever read. It has humor and, of course, toe-curling passion, and at the end of the book I was just in emotional agony because of the bittersweet ending. The story is the epitome of every woman’s fantasy.
