Although the text found in this book is comprised of Fred Rogers’ own song lyrics, the illustrations are what make that title one of my absolute favorites. The vibrant and detailed artistry of the talented Luke Flowers allows these lyrics to be presented as poetry and come to life through visuals that connect with readers my own age as well as younger readers discovering Fred’s beautiful verses for the first time.

I continue to find myself thinking about the deeper meanings behind Fred’s simple lyrics as they’re presented in print form such as this.
