Isla Ryder ❤️ loved this book because...

I know when I pick up Sally Thorne's contemporary romances that I will love them and this one was no exception.

I loved Tom, felt for Darcy and was all in on this renovation project. Their chemistry was perfect and the childhood friends to finally freaking lovers was perfect. (I am not afraid of the word perfect for this book)

But what I love most about her books? How well rounded everything is. This isn't a story that is too wrapped up in the main characters that turns everyone on the side into gray blurs. The work crew is great, Truly is great, and Jamie is perfect. The twin relationship is so wonderfully, complicatedly, portrayed that I could have read a whole book just about Darcy and Jamie (I would love for Jamie and Truly to get some more page time someday too!)

    🐇 I couldn't put it down

By Sally Thorne ,

Why should I read it?

2 authors picked 99 Percent Mine as one of their favorite books, and they share why you should read it.

What is this book about?

Readers and critics alike raved over USA Today bestselling author Sally Thorne's smash hit debut novel, The Hating Game-which sold in over 20 countries. Now she's back with an unforgettable romantic comedy about a twin sister and brother struggling over an inheritance-and the sexy best friend who comes between them.

Crush (n.): a strong and often short-lived infatuation, particularly for someone beyond your reach...

Darcy Barrett has undertaken a global survey of men. She's travelled the world, and can categorically say that no one measures up to Tom Valeska, whose only flaw is that Darcy's twin brother Jamie saw him…

My 2nd favorite read in 2026

Book cover of Well Traveled

Isla Ryder ❤️ loved this book because...

I read this series a bit out of order (oops skipped #3 by accident! - though that didn't matter too much, yay!)

Previously, I had relied on these as a good enough slump buster "i know it'll be 3.5-4 stars and that's good enough" but guys.... I want to run away to the Ren Faire now too, and not *just* because of Dex (but he's pretty great too) watching Lulu make the most of a shitty situation and become her best self while traveling with the band was lovely on its own, no romance needed, and that is hard pressed to be found in a romance read. Don't get me wrong, Dex is my favorite kind of male lead and the building tension and eventual connection between them was perfect. But also... I would read an entire book about Lulu and the fortune tellers.

This is going up there among my top reads of the year. Now to circle back for Mitch's story.

Book cover of Zeke De Los Santos Talks About His Feelings

Isla Ryder ❤️ loved this book because...

What a fun way to start the year, and I almost feel like starting with a book with a Z title means I should try the alphabet book challenge...

Remi Carrington never disappoints and I love this opening into a new series (I loved the novella that set it up too!)

Zeke is guarded and grumpy without either coming off as inauthentic or a red flag and Megan is totally her own woman despite being in danger. I love stories with older characters for this reason.

A sweet, slow burn with the threat of danger and the right amount of angst, definitely leaves me a little disappointed that when I go 'feed the horses' the only thing that happens is that the horses get fed.

What is this book about?

When a peacock chases me into my very own fairy tale, my life starts looking like one of the many rom coms I’ve starred in. But until now, the leading man has never been a rugged cowboy. Something I wouldn’t have said was my type. But the moment I come face-to-face with Zeke, the tall Latin ranch owner whose teenage daughter plucked me out of a bad situation, that changes. For me, it’s instant attraction. For him, not so much. He’s quiet and very protective of his daughter but graciously allows me to stay in his home. In his bed even. It…

Second Chance at the Water Jump

By Isla Ryder ,

Book cover of Second Chance at the Water Jump

What is my book about?

Mild spice, slow-burn romance.

All Savannah wants is to qualify for the Eventing championships with her horse Tucker. They’ve been working hard and staying focused, but an early season fall really starts the year off wrong. Worse yet, it’s caught in all its water-soaked glory by the photographer Evan—who also happens to be the guy she ditched before their blind date even started.

Evan is tired of working in a studio and is taking his photography business into the horse world. There’s a lot to learn, but the daunting task is certainly more fun when Savannah ends up in front of his lens. That blind date of theirs wasn’t as blind as she thinks: he might have begged for the set-up.

Can she make it to the championships and through that dreaded water jump?

Can he get her to put aside her old relationship woes and give him a shot?
