I loved this book. It is an exploration of the arc of one man's life (Robert Moses) with a compassionate perspective on how this affected the lives of many people in New York. The book is suffused with deep research and understanding of the man and his times. This is a remarkable book.
The Power Broker by Robert A. Caro is 'simply one of the best non-fiction books in English of the last forty years' (Dominic Sandbrook, Sunday Times): a riveting and timeless account of power, politics and the city of New York by 'the greatest political biographer of our times' (Sunday Times); chosen by Time magazine as one of the 100 Best Non-Fiction Books of All Time and by the Modern Library as one of the 100 Greatest Books of the Twentieth Century; Winner of the Pulitzer Prize; a Sunday Times Bestseller; 'An outright masterpiece' (Evening Standard)
Donna Tartt creates a vivid world and characters at a formative stage in their lives. The book integrates the changing perspective of the central character with a mystery that unfolds. It is beautifully written and profound in its exploration of what it means to be human.
'Everything, somehow, fit together; some sly and benevolent Providence was revealing itself by degrees and I felt myself trembling on the brink of a fabulous discovery, as though any morning it was all going to come together---my future, my past, the whole of my life---and I was going to sit up in bed like a thunderbolt and say oh! oh! oh!'

At first it seems that this book is about teenagers at a summer camp. Then it gradually evolves to explore deep emotions and happenings. It is profoundly moving in its exploration of people's lives and an unfolding mystery.

“The God of the Woods should be your next summer mystery.” —The Washington Post
“Extraordinary . . . Reminds me of Donna Tartt’s 1992 debut, The Secret History . . . I was so thoroughly submerged in a rich fictional world, that for hours I barely came up for air.” —Maureen Corrigan, Fresh Air, NPR
“Riveting from page one to the last breathless word.” —Rebecca Makkai, New York Times bestselling author of I Have Some Questions For You
How to Build a Nontraditional Career Path explains how and why to pursue a fulfilling, nontraditional, entrepreneurial career path that is both inspiring and practical. The book outlines what such a career path looks like, the benefits and challenges of this option, and how to proceed. It identifies who will likely find nontraditional careers attractive and enables the reader to assess whether and how such a path might fit their personality, life goals, and career objectives.
This will benefit those considering something different on entry to the workforce, individuals in middle or later career stages re-assessing their directions, people re-engaging with a career at an encore stage, or those whose previous career paths have been disrupted by an external event such as job loss.
