Book cover of Imminent

Marc Hartzman ❤️ loved this book because...

I interviewed Lue Elizondo a few years ago for my book, We Are Not Alone, so it was personally exciting to learn even more about his life experiences that led him to the forefront of today's UAP discussions and public revelations. His story is undeniably a fascinating one, whether you believe aliens are visiting us or not.

What is this book about?

The former head of the Pentagon program responsible for the investigation of UFOs—now known as unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP)—reveals long-hidden secrets with profound implications for not only national security but our understanding of the universe.

Luis “Lue” Elizondo is a former senior intelligence official and special agent who was recruited into strange and highly sensitive US government program to investigate UAP. To accomplish his mission, Elizondo had to rely on decades of experience gained working some of America’s most classified programs. Even then, he was not prepared for what he would learn, including the truth about the government’s long shadowy involvement in UAP…

Book cover of My Effin' Life

Marc Hartzman ❤️ loved this book because...

I've been a huge Rush fan since I was 15. I have all their albums and I've seen them in concert many times. At first I thought I knew enough about the band, but I'm so glad I bought this book. Geddy Lee takes us through his remarkable life story, including an emotional chapter about his parents' experiences in the Holocaust. Lee shares amusing anecdotes from childhood, early band adventures, and the eventual formation of Rush. The whole book is a backstage pass to one of the world's greatest rock bands. As I mentioned, I bought the book—which is filled with wonderful photos—but also listened to the audiobook. This was, in fact, the first audiobook I've chosen to listen to, and it was well worth it to hear it all read by Geddy himself.

What is this book about?

The long-awaited memoir, generously illustrated with never-before-seen photos, from the iconic Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Rush bassist, and bestselling author of Geddy Lee's Big Beautiful Book of Bass.

Geddy Lee is one of rock and roll's most respected bassists. For nearly five decades, his playing and work as co-writer, vocalist and keyboardist has been an essential part of the success story of Canadian progressive rock trio Rush. Here for the first time is his account of life inside and outside the band.

Long before Rush accumulated more consecutive gold and platinum records than any rock band after the…

Book cover of A Gentleman and a Thief: The Daring Jewel Heists of a Jazz Age Rogue

Marc Hartzman ❤️ loved this book because...

Dean Jobb incredibly well-researched book about 1920s' jewel thief Arthur Barry was a fascinating read. I'd never heard of Barry, but the book reads like an exciting novel as we follow his daring path to thievery—from remarkable successes to an eventual capture. I always love learning about weird and wonderful characters from the past, and Barry is absolutely one of them.

Why should I read it?

1 author picked A Gentleman and a Thief as one of their favorite books, and they share why you should read it.

What is this book about?

This captivating Jazz Age true crime tale about "the greatest jewel thief who ever lived" (Life Magazine), tells the incredible story of Arthur Barry, who charmed celebrities and millionaires while simultaneously planning and executing the most audacious and lucrative heists of the 1920s.

A skilled con artist and one of the most successful burglars in history, Arthur Barry was adept at slipping in and out of bedrooms undetected, even when his victims slept only inches away. He became a folk hero, a gentleman bandit touted in the press as the "Prince of Thieves" and an "Aristocrat of Crime." Think Cary…

We Are Not Alone: The Extraordinary History of UFOs and Aliens Invading Our Hopes, Fears, and Fantasies

By Marc Hartzman ,

Book cover of We Are Not Alone: The Extraordinary History of UFOs and Aliens Invading Our Hopes, Fears, and Fantasies

What is my book about?

After decades of cover-ups and denials, in a June 2021 report, the US government finally admitted what many people already knew: yes, UFOs are real, and no, we don’t know what (or who) they are. Writer and historian Marc Hartzman separates fact from fiction and provides a comprehensive tour through the skies, including:

UFO sightings, from the famous (including the Phoenix Lights and the Ariel School Incident) to the obscure

Alien abductions, including the Betty and Barney Hill abduction and the Pascagoula abduction

Ancient aliens, from Biblical astronauts to the alien architects behind the pyramids

Scientific evidence, including the “Wow!” radio signal and the interstellar ‘Oumuamua object

Cover-ups and conspiracies, including the Roswell Incident and Area 51

Governmental and military reports, from Project Blue Book to reports of UFOs at nuclear weapons sites

Deeply researched and highly entertaining, We Are Not Alone will inform and enchant anyone who’s ever doubted we’re really alone in the universe.
