Don't miss the New York Times and USA Today bestseller and addictive psychological thriller with a jaw-dropping twist that’s burning up Instagram and TikTok--Freida McFadden’s The Housemaid is perfect for fans of Ruth Ware, Lisa Jewell, and Verity.

Every day I clean the Winchesters’ beautiful house top to bottom. I collect their daughter from school. And I cook a delicious meal for the whole family before heading up to eat alone in my tiny room on the top floor.

My 2nd favorite read in 2024

Book cover of Farewell to Manzanar

❤️ loved this book because...

I learned how the Internment Camps destroyed the Japanese American Culture within (1) Generation - and how the shock of such a quick destruction impacted both the old and the young. To read how losing just one tradition - sharing dinner every night around the big round table that sat 12+ people made the foundation of her family crumble...... that evoked deep feelings in me, and brought back memories of sharing holiday meals at my grandparents house for every holiday. I was left feeling deeply sad and pensive.

Its purpose was to house thousands of Japanese Americans. Among them was the Wakatsuki family, who were ordered to leave their fishing business in Long Beach and take with them only the belongings they could carry. Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston, who was seven years old when she arrived at Manzanar in 1942, recalls life in the camp through the eyes of the child she was. First published in 1973, this new edition of the classic memoir of a devastating Japanese American experience includes an inspiring afterword by the authors.

My 3rd favorite read in 2024

Book cover of Found

❤️ loved this book because...

The author was brave enough to tackle the hard truth of the damage that is a reality to the victims of violent crime. The readers never learn what happened to the boy while he was in the custody of his kidnappers, and I don't want to give away too much of this plot - -

This book was so beautifully written, and so wonderfully believable. It's one that stayed with me for weeks after I finished it!
