this book because...
Most of us were raised outside of the ultra-rich community and this is not a world we know. I didn't really understand the burdens and emotional toll that inheriting and/or being responsible for millions of dollars could take on someone. This book is unique because it isn't the typical "stop being poor by doing the following," but it's a deep dive into self-identity, what money really is, and how to structure a life of meaning by being wealthy in many ways, not just financially.
I had the pleasure of reading The Soul of Money years ago, and then I read it again, and then I read it for a third time last year. Each time brought me to a new understanding of my own values and what money can do for my life. In fact, my husband and I were personally coached by Lynne at the East West Bookshop in Mountain View, California.
