Deeply moving, this story brought me to tears several times. There is very little fanfare and yet the author was able to touch my heart, using simple prose to highlight complex characters who must find their way through difficult circumstances.
A timely reminder of our shared humanity, the message is clear: human experience and emotions are universal. We are all the same, no matter our culture, colour or creed.

I love that the author explores the ethical and moral implications of highly plausible technological advances in our not-too-distant future. Truly compelling, cautionary tales for fans of thoughtful science fiction.

I learned so much about the darker side of conservation , the unlawful trafficking of endangered species, the true nature of eco-tourism. The author really knows the subject matter inside out and has written a beautiful story that's full of heart. This needs to be read by everyone with a conscience, if only to honour the scientists who go into conservation (surely a heart-breaking discipline)
A captivating tale about the wonders of wildlife and the trials of conservation. Wolf Vandengetz has the ideal post for an adventurous scientist, researching prides of lions. Then he gets a promotion. With a heavy heart, he leaves his fieldwork in the Serengeti to administer a program to save endangered pangolins in Nepal. As a scientist, he's accustomed to solving complex ecosystem mysteries but ill-equipped to tackle the politics of donation-hungry NGOs, the tragic consequences of conservation strategies gone wrong or the greed driving pangolins to extinction. On a mission beset with unpredictable twists, an innitiatieve to outsmart poachers lands…
