As someone who’s moved around a LOT and lived far from family most of my life, I’m a sucker for found family of any kind.

When a character is craftier and sneakier than me, it is so, so fun and I could barely keep up!

SO many scenes in this book gave me literal chills and my imagination was fueled up for days, nay, years! Incredible.
I lost a lot of sleep reading this series! Heir of Fire is when I started to really LOVE the Throne of Glass series, and it totally sucked me in. Even though I read this book almost ten years ago, I still think of these scenes from time to time–and I’m still impressed by them.

I was reading from a young age, but I didn’t start devouring books until I found the fantasy genre. I firmly believe that there is a set of books out there that every person can love, even if they don’t consider themselves a capital-R, serious Reader. It would be a great waste for someone not to know that fantasy literature might be their special thing. Such a creative concept for the magical lore and religion of the world – tarot magic being a tangible thing anyone with the card can use. The creature in the main female character's head lends both fear and comfort at surprising moments, and the dark gothic setting created an overall creepiness that forced me to keep reading late into the night, just to seek relief.
