My top pick in this series is The Darkest Kiss because I love the female lead Anya. She’s just amazing. This series can actually fit into sci-fi as well as shifter romance. The main leads are human experiments whose DNA is spliced with animal DNA. Hence they are stronger with heightened senses with characteristics of animal DNA they have been spliced with. The story opens with their rescue and them being provided a separate compound to reside. Each story follows a rescued species and Smiley is my pick because he’s the most cheerful and free spirited new species among them all. And this story is a heartwarming romance woven with a lot of action that will keep the readers on their toes.

I love this book because the hero, Eric, has been in love with the heroine Piper since they were teenagers. However, the heroine is his brother’s best friend so he pulled back so as not to step on any toes. The entire time, Piper believed he hated her. I love when she realizes that not only doesn’t Eric hate her, but she loves him too.

I love this graphic audiobook so much because not only is the story itself amazing and definitely one of my comfort reads, but the actors do such a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life.
The world-building is top tier, the characters are relatable, even though they live in a world with magic, and the actors doing the voices give this audio book that much more depth. Hearing the hero fall in love with the heroine is delightful.
