There is something about a 'happily ever after' that, no matter how hard it is to get there, it is so satisfying when you do. If there is a little humor mixed in with mystery that can take your emotions on a rollercoaster, that’s all the better. I decided to write romance because I do believe in fairy tales. I believe love is a choice. You make it what you want. I am a romantic suspense author because I love the thrill of solving the crime. In many cases, truth is stranger than fiction. Many times I use real-life issues and moments in time in my writing to pique the readers' curiosity.
For me, a strong character that tugs at my emotions will keep me reading every time. Brittney Sahin is a master of character development and one of my favorite books of all time is The Real Deal. Sebastian is a bad guy…or is he. There are so many layers to this huge character that I was torn about falling in love with him. He was a bad guy, but he had a good reason and though he tried to steer Holly away from his life, she saw through his rough exterior.
A mysterious Irish billionaire is about to make the deal of his life.
Holly McGregor shouldn't be attracted to someone on the board of directors at her company. But she can't avoid his unforgiving stare, deny their electric chemistry, or resist his touch, his mouth, the dangerous invitation she sees in his eyes.
Her family hates him, and the city fears him, but she knows there's another side to Sebastian Renaud because he slipped--he let her witness the light beneath the dark. And now that she's had a taste, she only wants to discover more.

This was one of the first romance books I read, and it has stuck with me. Luke is a grouchy military guy that is tired of his family’s meddling or anyone else’s for that matter. His bristly personality keeps most at bay but when Harper stumbles into his life he realizes he’s going to have a hard time keeping her out of his life. She’s not deterred by his grumpiness and Luke’s true protective personality starts to emerge. Not to give anything away, but the romance of these two was what was memorable about this book.
Luke Garrison is a hometown hero, a member of the National Guard ready to deploy again. He's strong, sexy, broody. The last thing he's looking for is a woman to ruin his solitude. When the wildly beautiful Harper stumbles into his life, though, he realizes that she's the perfect decoy. A fake girlfriend to keep his family off his back until he's deployed.
So what if kissing her sends his mind to wicked places? He can control himself. Can't he?
Harper was on her way to starting a new life... again. But something about…

This is a story about the Westbrook family. The family is wealthy, they love each other, but they have horrible communication skills. Each one has a secret or a lie or something that doesn’t need to be shared with the family, all with the thought of protecting them. Unfortunately, the secrets could have devastating consequences. Halton Westbrook has a problem with people. They scare him to death. The lie he has carried since childhood has taken the only person he feels comfortable with away from him, until now. Though Avery Maxwell’s books sometimes cover dark subjects, she mixes in just the right amount of humor and romance to keep you turning the pages when you should be sleeping. I loved this story because I identified so much with the anxiety that Halton experienced. I found myself crying for him and his debilitating fear. It was so raw and so spot…
She's the only one I'll ever love, but I had to let her go. Rylan Maroney is the biggest lie I've ever told, and it nearly destroyed everyone in my life. No matter how much it hurts, I can never have her again.
He broke my heart and walked away, but he hasn't let me go. Halton Westbrook has haunted my life from four thousand miles away for the last eight years. I've tried to move on, but he makes it impossible.
No one knows about us or why I ran away, but he's gone too far this time, and…

I am an avid romance reader. I love all different tropes and I constantly have a book in my hand. Reckless Miles is my favorite of all the books I’ve read and out of all the characters, Cooper Miles is my favorite character. The entire Miles series, about a family vineyard, is worth checking out because not only are they fantastic stories that will leave your sides hurting from laughter, and swooning from the happily ever after, but there is also a mystery woven in.
Cooper Miles is unique. He’s very comfortable in his skin. Whatever he thinks comes straight out of his mouth and it is drop-dead hilarious. He takes life as it comes and doesn’t stress, something I wish I could learn to do. When he latches onto someone, he loves them deeply, whether it’s a family member, best friend, or a girl who is dropped into his…
“I love being naked. Naked is awesome.” For Cooper Miles, life used to be an endless party. He worked hard and played harder—as often as possible. But things change—people change—and lately the party life isn’t doing it for him. Enter Amelia Hale. Cooper doesn’t see her coming. But it isn’t every day you meet a girl in a wedding dress in a bar. A girl whose life just took a sharp left turn she wasn’t expecting. Kissing her is totally no big deal. She’s had one hell of a day and a little kissing lesson by Cooper is bound to…
I have always been drawn to the idea of a friendship turning into lasting love. When two people are friends first, they can be vulnerable with each other, support each other, and develop a tender intimacy before the fireworks. My young adult years as a tomboy and outdoor education instructor meant I was often the only girl among many guys, and I developed some very deep and meaningful friendships. My first love was also a tender friend first, and I’ll never forget the power of our bond. Writing friends to lovers stories always feels like home to me. This story had so much unique and charismatic personality! The characters leapt off the pages, and their “dilemma” created an irresistible hook.
Davis is about to graduate from college and has yet to lose her virginity. She turns to the one man she’s wanted for the job, her childhood crush, lifelong family friend, best friend to her brother, and bad boy extreme, Crew Taylor. These two have an intense history together that involved Davis’s older brother Memphis, and this relationship and how Memphis fell into addiction, dragging Crew down with him, was beautifully crafted by the author and the highlight of the story for me.
The angsty buildup between these two people who clearly were destined for each other was incredibly satisfying! I was on the edge of my seat, rooting so hard for Crew to overcome the demons of his past and just let Davis into his heart. I…
'The chemistry they have is amazing and the steaming moments are HOT' 'It's one of the best romance books/best friends sister relationship books I've EVER read! And I read A LOT!'
I want her. She wants to feel wanted. Those are two very different things...
I never expected my best friend's little sister to become the one I craved, but it happened anyway. In the beginning, we were both young, then she was too young, and then suddenly...she wasn't.
Unfortunately for me, things got complicated, so I took off, but this girl? She followed.

I'm a sucker for angsty romance stories between two first loves who get a second chance, so this book hit all my GO buttons. Our main character is an ex-con and recovered addict who's trying to get back on his feet by working on the Shipley's farm. He never forgot the woman he fell for before his world crumbled to pieces, a girl who was his friend first and his first love. But that same woman is at the center of the tragedy that put him on his path to addiction and a fateful car accident that sent him to prison.
Watching these two reconnect, first as friends and allies, then later, when their chemistry leaps off the pages, and they learn to trust again, was insanely powerful. I rooted for these two with my whole heart. I mourned these characters when the story ended, but the burn was 100%…
She’s the only one who ever loved him—and the only girl he can never win back... Includes the bonus love letter!
Jude lost everything one spring day when he crashed his car into an apple tree on the side of the road. A man is dead, and there's no way he can ever right that wrong. He’d steer clear of Colebury, Vermont forever if he could. But an ex-con in recovery for his drug addiction can’t find a job just anywhere.
Sophie Haines is stunned by his reappearance. After a three year absence, the man who killed her brother and…

I am a sucker for lifelong friends to lovers with a bit of the taboo, and this book delivered!
Our hero is a sexy hockey player with a dark past, and our heroine is a dancer with an overprotective and controlling family. When, on her wedding day, she learns the jerk she’s being forced to marry has been cheating on her, she runs right into the arms of her childhood crush and friend Jasper, who offers to whisk her away so she can figure out what to do and how to face her parents.
Jasper and Sloane were made for each other from page one, and I loved rooting for them! Add in the delightful small-town vibes, the belonging that comes from being part of an amazing, tight-knit family, and some steamy times, and it’s a recipe for an all-nighter (reading, that is).
Two childhood friends. Two broken hearts. One impromptu road trip to get away from everything. That's all this was supposed to be.
To Jasper Gervais's fans, he's the handsome, talented hockey heartthrob on TV. But to Sloane, he'll always be the lost boy with the sad eyes and a heart of gold.
The man she's loved in secret all her life.
So when her life falls apart on the day she's supposed to marry someone else, it only makes sense that he's the one to swoop in and save her. And when his world comes crashing down around him, she's…

I absolutely loved this friends to lovers romance! Always Have is well-crafted, with great characters and a sweet complication between the pair of twins and their best friend.
I found the angsty “will they/won’t they” tension between the MC and the FMC to be perfectly crafted and utterly delightful. The buildup to the moment everything came together had me on the edge of my seat! Loved the bit of humor, too. Overall a very enjoyable story. I hear there is another book coming in this series, and I can’t wait to read it.
Kylie's best friend Braxton is the hottest man she's ever known, with a rock hard body and a smile that melts the panties off every woman he meets. Except Kylie. Mostly.
Kylie is anxious to get off the dating carousel and find something real. Despite the way Braxton tends to suck the air from her lungs, she knows he's trouble. He's just another player, and she's tired of the game.
But Braxton isn't the man she thinks. The real reason he's sh*t with women is simple. None of the women he's with are the one he wants. None of them…
I’m a girl who loves books, bulldogs, and that first hint of summer. I started reading when I was very young – three years old, according to my mother – but even as an alleged child prodigy all I can confirm is that I don’t remember there ever being a time I didn’t love to read. Nancy Drew was my favorite, which probably helps explain why I write books with redheaded heroines in them.
Any and all of Jenny Bayliss’s books can be read at Christmas and leave you feeling just as good as a hot toddy with the perfectly sized slice of spice cake.
Each of her books is a delectable treat and an immersion in the holiday spirit, but Meet Me Under the Mistletoe is my absolute favorite. Probably because I adore the heroine – Elinor Noel, or Nory for short. She owns her own vintage bookshop in London, but grew up in the English countryside.
Her parents’ home was near a posh private school, which Nory received a scholarship to attend. Throughout the years, she’s remained close with her old school chums and now two of them are set to be married just before Christmas in the old castle on the school grounds.
Isaac has taken over as head gardener for the castle estate. He tormented Nory when they were children,…
A city bookshop owner heads to the English countryside for a holiday reunion—only to face her childhood enemy.
Elinor Noel—Nory for short—is quite content running her secondhand bookshop in London. Forever torn between her working-class upbringing and her classmates’ extravagant lifestyles at the posh private school she attended on scholarship, Nory has finally figured out how to keep both at equal distance. So when two of her oldest friends invite their whole gang to spend the time leading up to their wedding together at the castle near their old school, Nory must prepare herself for an emotionally complicated few days.…

I know Things We Never Got Over, or TWNGO for those of us “in the know”, has gotten all the love, followed by Things We Hide From the Light, but . . . as good as Lucy’s latest releases are, Rock Bottom Girl is still my absolute go-to book by Lucy Score.
While I don’t normally love it when the heroine comes home practically destitute, Lucy makes our main FMC Marley such a loveable screw up that it doesn’t bother me. Essentially, Marley has come home to live with her parents in an effort to kickstart her life. She’s lost her job, her man and essentially all hope.
Even worse is that her blonde, bouffanted (is that a word) high school nemesis now lives next door and seems to have a perfect life. Add to that she’s forced to take a teaching job (and girls soccer coach position)…
From the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of Things We Never Got Over
"You may be faking the relationship, but you're not faking the orgasms."
Downsized, broke, and dumped, 38-year-old Marley sneaks home to her childhood bedroom in the town she couldn't wait to escape twenty years ago. Not much has changed in Culpepper. The cool kids are still cool. Now they just own car dealerships and live in McMansions next door. Oh, and the whole town is still talking about that Homecoming she ruined her senior year.
Desperate for a new start, Marley accepts a temporary…
