This book is one of my favorites. I like it because it’s part of a series. It’s fun because you follow many characters, 10-12 partially main characters, in fact. This was the first Christian Historical Fiction novel I had read where there was a little supernatural mixed in. I didn’t know that was even allowed! It inspired me to add that in my novels.
I really liked it because it didn’t have any explicit content in it. It was completely appropriate and that is hard to find these days, even in Christian fiction. I liked how all the characters interact with each other in the story. There’s plenty of mystery and adventure and lots going on.

I love this book because it gives you such a wonderful example and perspective of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. It makes them so real and personable.

My passion for whimsy is assuredly the result of my mama’s efforts to cultivate an environment where imaginative play and creativity were nurtured. I was raised on a steady diet of whimsical children’s literature—green eggs and ham in a box with a fox, pots of hunny with a silly old bear, and forbidden radishes with a naughty rabbit.
