I’m a geeky nerd who loves Disney villains and escaping reality while also supporting a slice of the world that means a lot to me. Bi-erasure sucks and the perpetuated stereotypes aren’t helping. So, I tell better bisexual stories. One magical thing about being an author is exploring healthy ways of presenting messy, complicated, and loving relationships with realistic bisexual characters—especially men. Heck, I have a world where the assumed sexuality is always bi. I don’t want to be erased, so I’m leaving a mark behind and, now as a bestselling author, I think I’m getting through for us all—but I’m not the only one. Enjoy the other amazing authors on this list. I certainly have!
It’s gay Harry Potter—your favorite slash fic, but better. Rainbow Rowell has an incredible grasp on writing the believably angst-filled, enemies-to-lovers pairing with the backdrop of a magic school background and a clever magic system. This is the first of a trilogy (so far) and I’m dying for more. No other book has made me squee like a proper fangirl and run around the house in delight like this one. The three books incorporate stellar character growth and, although bisexuality takes a back seat to being the Chosen One, there’s no bi-baiting (it’s blatantly discussed later in the series). Guys, I just can’t. I can’t! I have to go reread this now (again).

I can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard with a book. I was crying! If you’re a fan of The Great British Baking Show you must read this. Alexis Hall is clever with her relationship crafting and incredibly skilled at bringing in hilarious English insults—not to mention some euphemisms that slayed me. As someone who watches Bake Off to chill out and remember that the world isn’t so bad, I can’t help but push this book onto anyone who’s ever enjoyed the show. That said, the book doesn’t shy away from a common sexual assault that may be hard to read for some. I promise you this book is as charming as you think, even if there’s a pinch of realism to balance the fun.

I feel like it’s cheating to recommend a graphic novel, but don’t be fooled by the labels. This BDSM erotica is one of the sweetest, silliest, and most heartwarming stories I’ve had the pleasure of stumbling across. The story behind Sunstone’s creation brings me incredible joy: Stjepan was burned out hard, he’d run out of wick on the candle he’d burned at both ends and worried he might never create again. But, as an artist, Stjepan loved drawing beautiful—and kinky—outfits. This sparked into a story he was passionate about, one that he posted for free on DeviantArt to the masses. A common comment from the original posting? "I'm not into BDSM...but this story...I get it." These main characters will win your heart, and possibly awaken things you aren’t expecting.
Two women deal with modern themes of sex, relationships, and fetishism in
this erotic romantic comedy. So beware all who enter, because, to quote a few
hundred thousand readers on DeviantArt: "I'm not into BDSM...but this story...I
get it."
It’s not often I jump on a popular bandwagon, but Casey handles banter like a queen. The chemistry she builds between the fictional prince of England and the fictional president’s son is intoxicating. Not only is the book littered with historical references to LGBTQ+ history, but the beauty of blending cultures is matched only by the beauty of their love. Plus, if you can make me giggle like a dork, you get extra points. Although an unconventional read for me, I appreciated a few nerdy references and a political twist that didn’t feel too politic-y.
Honestly, I’m not big into royals either but this book got me bad.

I’m a sucker for a fake relationship. Add in a bisexual Black woman and I’m sold! The banter between the two main characters is highly entertaining and there’s something about this book that charms the soul. Dani is self-assured, and Zafir is into her from the start, which makes for an addicting romance. It was especially refreshing to see representation not only in sexuality, but in cultures and POC. There are some heavy topics around anxiety, depression, and loss, but in no way did that detract from my reading experience (even though all three of those things are close to home). Regardless, get ready to snag a copy, put your feet up, and die with glee.
