This novel would be great for bookclubs because there would be so much to discuss. At over 600 pages, it's lengthy but at no time did I ever feel it was slow. There are many themes including cultural expectations in education, family dynamics, and betrayal. With great characters, a good storyline, and some unexpected twists, this is one of my favorite books this year.

This novel was pure gripping entertainment and I couldn't keep up with the twists. It's part of a series but I enjoyed it as a standalone. An immersive storyline that I thought was original and fresh for this genre.
