❤️ loved this book because...
I loved this book because it read like an actual true crime memoir, which I thought it WAS, until I noticed it had been cataloged as fiction. So evocative of suburban American life in the 80's, but also a can't-put-it-down mystery. It felt like a fresh take on a very well-worn trope-serial murder in a small town-with completely believable characters in an utterly authentic setting. (I know-I remember the 80's, and Chismer nails it)
