Book cover of Ghost Soldiers: The Epic Account of World War II's Greatest Rescue Mission

Eric Kay ❤️ loved this book because...

The kind of dramatic nonfiction filled with every emotion, and was often very tragic. The collections of characters was amazing, and wouldn't sound believable if it were fiction. It had everything. Soldiers fighting, dying, and giving up hope. Glamorous female spies funneling food and medicine to save lives. Chaplains and priests seemingly performing miracles and fighting back the tides of despair. Villagers giving up their most valuable possession (and their livelihood) to support men they did not know.

What is this book about?

NATIONAL BESTSELLER • “The greatest World War II story never told” (Esquire)—an enthralling account of the heroic mission to rescue the last survivors of the Bataan Death March.

On January 28, 1945, 121 hand-selected U.S. troops slipped behind enemy lines in the Philippines. Their mission: March thirty rugged miles to rescue 513 POWs languishing in a hellish camp, among them the last survivors of the infamous Bataan Death March. A recent prison massacre by Japanese soldiers elsewhere in the Philippines made the stakes impossibly high and left little time to plan the complex operation.

In Ghost Soldiers Hampton Sides vividly…

My 2nd favorite read in 2025

Book cover of Delta-V

Eric Kay ❤️ loved this book because...

It was a great story of people trying to do the impossible. Plenty of tech and space exploration. What caught me was that I enjoyed the space lawyer and his story line much more than I thought I would. There might be a market for any Space/Sci-Fi John Grishams out there. Being an underdog, way in over your head and trying to punch above your weight, is always a good read.

The potential rewards and personal risks are staggering, but the competition is fierce…

Book cover of Stealing For The Sky

Eric Kay ❤️ loved this book because...

Almost a novella, I appreciate these slim down self-contained sci-fi stories. Not very realistic at times, but I enjoyed the ride none the less!

Space Ants

By Eric Kay ,

Book cover of Space Ants

What is my book about?

Survival amidst the rings of a gas giant means that life must adapt or die. Luckily, Space Ants never say die!

Space Never Say Die is a collection of serialized short stories following one colony. Each segment zooms in on a single ant from different castes—from tireless handmaidens and brave scouts to valiant soldiers and the indomitable queen mother—as they explore, extract, expand, and sometimes exterminate the deadly threats lurking in the gas giant's ring system.

Join the ants as they navigate the perils of deep impacts, dehydration, and the constant threat of rival colonies. Witness their rise from the brink of extinction to becoming a dominant force in their orbit. They are gardeners and fighters, signalers and slayers, and even a lowly worker all join forces to save their hive.

Space Never Say Die is a sci-fi adventure like nothing you've read before.
