Catherine Astl ❤️ loved this book because...

I love the style of Barbara Kingsolver. Her writing is very evocative and places you right into the setting. I especially liked how each character's viewpoint was highlighted and how each of them dealt with life's obstacles in different ways. We can see a bit of ourselves in each situation. Beautifully written!

Book cover of Cutting for Stone

Catherine Astl ❤️ loved this book because...

I had read Covenant of Water last year and this year wanted to read more from this author. I absolutely love this author's works. I especially liked learning SO much about medicine. It's fascinating! But moreso, I loved the characters. A story of love, life, loss, and secrets...all told beautifully!

Catherine Astl ❤️ loved this book because...

As a huge fan of history, I read a lot about Thomas Jefferson, but knew almost nothing about his daughter. What a fascinating woman! She truly played a large part in our Founding Father's legacy, but quietly and behind the scenes. Her life was one of adventure and duty. Loved this one!
