❤️ loved this book because...

CJ Box has the ability to develop characters that you identify with. Cassie Dewell and Cody Hoyt are incredible characters. He offset them with the vile “Lizard King” subplot adding depth to the already amazing story. He’s also a depth making us fall in love with the setting, in this case Montana, and its wildlife, mountains, and rural America. Something I didn't realize about this book was it was andapted into the TV series “Big Sky”. ‘“Big Sky” took Box’ identifiable characters and “TV transported” them into people no one could identify with. The only two good parts of the show was the first season with Ryan Phillipe, and the villains. It was an unfair adaptation of a very good book.

This "impossible to put down" #1 New York Times bestseller introduces Amos Decker, a gifted police detective with a perfect memory who must solve a mystery he wishes he could forget: his family's murder (Washington Post).

Amos Decker's life changed forever--twice.
