Book cover of Second Song

❤️ loved this book because...

I love all of Con Riley's books set in Cornwall. I'm a character driven enthusiast so the characters and their interactions are always primary. Rowan was a delight. Long-time favorite Charles provided solid secondary support as did a few new characters and many long-time friends. I wish most children could attend schools like Glynn Harbor.

What is this book about?

Second Song (Second Chance School #1). Page-turning heat and hurt-comfort start on a Cornish cliffside and end at a school where not only students heal from past pain.. Do first times count if you forget them?. Rowan: I once lost a national singing contest. My consolation prize? A night I can’t remember and the tattoo on my bare bottom going viral. Six years later, I’m ready to rise like a phoenix from those shameful public ashes even if my singing days are over. Training as a music teacher is the second chance I need to prove I can be trusted…

Book cover of Oyster

❤️ loved this book because...

Can't love a book unless I love the characters. Who wants to spend time with people one doesn't like. Éti Salvador is pure delight as is the French island where most of the action takes place. Oyster is the middle of a trio of related books and I loved Salt and Vine also.

What is this book about?

Low tides threw up all kinds of unexpected and random treasures. Wedding bands, hauls of driftwood, old bones worn smooth.. Jaded oyster fisherman, Nico La Forge, had seen them all.. Or so he believed. Until one night, a cold, bedraggled, and beautiful Éti Salvador washed up on the shore.. Nico had never been in love. Wasn’t even looking for love. With the body of a revolutionary hero and a face like the devil, Nico was the sort of guy your mother warned you to stay away from. But then, Nico had never come across anyone as extraordinary as Éti Salvador…

Book cover of The Edge Of Heaven

❤️ loved this book because...

Unusual fake dating set-up with adorable main characters. I was particularly fond of the hired fake love interest, "Archer, the charming man who can play the part of astrophysicist with an endless love for the wonders of space".

What is this book about?

"And really, what kind of fool goes and falls for their escort?"

In a fit of panic, reclusive English teacher, Julian Pedalino, lies about a boyfriend when he's coerced into attending his ex-husband's wedding. And when he realizes he has to follow through and actually bring someone, he's left with only one option.

Hire a stranger.

He's expecting the weekend to be a disaster, he's expecting everyone to see through him, he's expecting them all to know the truth - that he could never get someone as gorgeous as that to fall for a person like him.

What he isn't…
