👍 liked this book because...
I found the protagonist to be an admirable character, and (since apparently we have the potential of a series here) I'm interested to find out what happens next. The author brings the scientific and technological advances of the time alive by putting us in the shoes of those who observed them, and also illustrates the influence that individuals can have on what we'd usually consider "larger than life" movements. Finally, I'm a big fan of Stephenson's slightly irreverent and always engaging writing style.
